Dye Sublimation Printers
Dye Sublimation printing. Bright. Permanent. Limitless.
Sublimation printing infuses your designs into the fabric — not just on top of it — delivering stunning, high-resolution prints that never crack, peel, or fade.
Print that fuses with fabric, not just sits on it.
Sublimation printing is a heat-based process where ink transforms into gas and becomes one with the polyester surface. The result? Sharp, vibrant colors that never peel, crack, or fade. From performance apparel to premium promotional items, sublimation delivers durability, speed, and stunning detail with every print.

Dye Sublimation Printing Explained
What is Dye Sublimation Printing?
Sublimation printing is a digital printing technique where heat and pressure are used to transfer dye directly into polyester-based surfaces. Instead of sitting on top of the fabric, the ink turns into gas and embeds itself within the fibers, making the result vibrant, durable, and fully integrated into the material.

How Does Sublimation Printing Work?
The process begins with printing your artwork onto a special transfer paper using sublimation inks. Then, using a heat press, the paper is pressed onto the fabric or substrate at high temperature. The heat transforms the ink into gas, allowing it to bond with the polyester molecules, creating a permanent, full-color image.
Step 1
Design Creation (CMYK Image Format)

The process starts with creating your design using graphic software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or RIP software specifically tailored for print production. Since sublimation printing operates using a CMYK color model, your design must be prepared in this format to achieve accurate color reproduction. Designs can range from high-resolution photographs to intricate vector art. The higher the resolution, the better the final outcome—especially when printing on large surfaces like fabric rolls or signage.
Step 2
Printing Onto Sublimation Transfer Paper
Once your design is finalized, it’s printed using a sublimation printer loaded with special sublimation inks. These inks are formulated to sublimate. That is, to transform from a solid state directly into gas when exposed to high heat.
The design is printed in mirror image on coated sublimation transfer paper, which acts as a temporary medium. This paper holds the ink in place and prevents bleeding or smudging before the transfer. Precision and alignment are critical at this stage to ensure color fidelity and proper registration.
Step 3
Heat Press Transfer – Calandering
The printed transfer paper is then placed onto the polyester fabric (can also be blends, with at least 50%-60% polyester). Both layers are then placed into a heat press machine, typically a heat calander press. The press applies consistent heat and pressure, generally between 180°C to 210°C, depending on the substrate type. This heat is what activates the sublimation process, allowing the ink to gasify and infuse into the material.
Step 4
Sublimation Ink Transforms Into Gas
Under intense heat, sublimation ink bypasses the liquid phase and turns directly into gas. The polyester fibers open at a molecular level, allowing the ink to enter and bond with them. As the substrate cools down, the fibers close, locking the ink permanently inside the material.Because the ink becomes part of the fabric or substrate itself, there is no additional layer on top—unlike screen printing or vinyl methods. The print will not crack, fade, or peel, even after repeated washing or exposure to sunlight.
Bonus Tip: Unlike surface-level printing methods such as screen printing or DTF, sublimation printing doesn’t just sit on top of the fabric. Instead, it penetrates the fibers and becomes part of it.
